Bath & District Football League - Match reports

Sunday March 13th 2005 -
Bear Flat 4 Bath Spa 0 (Sunday League Div 3)

Writer: Stuart Mason / Mike Hill of Bear Flat.

Bear Flat won their 5 game on the spin when they beat fellow title chasers Bath Spa to keep up there hope's of collecting there first trophy since joining the league from the Bath & District youth league.

With strikes from Chris Young, Mike Hill , Stuart Gregory and Richard Cope-Evans Bear Flat never looked like being under threat and should maybe have scored more as they created a host of chances with some well worked passing moves. The best goal of the game was a sublime passing move which resulted in a simple tap in for the unmarked Stuart Gregory at the back post to finish off a move which involved the majority of the team and numerous passes.

Bear Flat will take great heart from this result into their remaining fixtures, which sees them face fellow Div 3 title hopefuls Bath Arsenal and Claverton Villa in games that could decide the title and are must win games for Bears. The 3 defeats which Bears incurred, due to injuries and illness have cost them dearly as they conceded 25 goals in these games, resulting in a inferior goal difference compared to the teams around them.
